Our Story
MyAndyBear was created in memory of Andy Lada. MyAndyBear is a memory bear making service that provides a unique way to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. We create custom bears using clothing or fabric that holds sentimental value, allowing you to keep a tangible reminder of your loved one close to you. With each bear, we encourage donations to various organizations that support causes we beieve in.
One of a Kind
Bears can be personalized with favorite sayings, names, dates or simple icons (heart for example).
We try to accomodate where we can using T-Shirts (although graphics are difficult to fussy cut around and may not be a good choice if you want to preserve the message/graphic), blankets or even favorite costumes.
We have even made bears & pilows from military unitorms.
Our favorite material to work with is usually found in ladies blouses or men's button up shirt. Pants are typically easy to work with as well.
We can also make other animals. We have patterns for a moose, giraffe, baby kangaroo (Joey), horse, unicorn, lion, cats, dogs, duck, and a few more. We use patterns from "Funky Friends Factory". Our bear pattern is a Simplicity pattern (we do not use the Funky Friends bear pattern). If we don't have the pattern you can puchase the pattern for us from Funky Friends Factory and we will make it and add it to our pattern library. We do not benefit from purchases made on this site.
Our Bear Journey
Below are some of the bears we have made since the summer of 2014. We have come a long way in this journey. We learned so much about making bears with various modifications including embroidery and slicing up patterns to create different effects. We also found patterns for other animals that have been fun to make ("Funky Friends"). We have made a few memory quilts and even some memory pillows.
